Hi All,
My name is Evan Leavitt and I work at the Georgia College Library in Milledgeville, GA. I have been assisting an undergraduate class in researching Milledgeville's Vietnam deaths and I am responsible for taking the collected materials and creating the online digital exhibit. I am currently putting together Earl Shannon's material and have been trying to piece together Earl's story and timeline in Vietnam. Earl began his tour in April 1970 with Company D, 227th AHB and then was folded into E Troop 1/9 Cav. Earl was an OH-6 observer. He died on 12/13/1970 when his OH-6 was shot down. The crash also killed his gunner, John Kile. I am looking for any veterans who might have served with Earl and have remembrances to share.
