My father, John Majcherek, was the WOC severely injured in the crash that killed the IP. They were flying an OH-23 that day and not a TH-55 as stated. The accident took place upon approach to stagefield #1/Pinto at Ft. Wolters. I have several crash photos. Mechanical failure is cited as having caused the crash. Although my father spent nearly a year in hospitals recovering, he is alive and well today. It was a huge surprise to us to find this page and actually see a newspaper clipping describing his accident.
