I was a Navy trained, U.S. Army Salvage Diver in Vietnam. We pulled quite a few out of the drink. Looking for info on two crashes. One was a Huey Gunship that hit the tall cross-country power line immediately west of the Dong Nai Bridge....the big one just south of Long Binh. Four were killed in the crash. Our dive barge was below the bridge on the south side. Current was too strong. UDT arrived next day to disarm it, current was too swift for them too. We finally got to it at slack tide. Just wondering if anyone has details on who the crew were? Also, two weeks later (+-), a Huey Slick carrying about 11 pax and crew hit the next power line about 3 miles west of the Dong Nai Bridge. That was a really nasty one. No one survived. Was flying into the late day sun at low altitude and hit the power line. Shorter than the one at the Dong Nai but high enough to snag them. Terrible. Anyone with any info, please post. Insert is my book, some of which is about my experiences as a diver in Vietnam.
