I'd like to thank the Administrator and everyone who contributes to this site. It is an honor to all who have served, and especially to those listed on it's pages. My brother, CW2 Phillip Rochlitz, is listed on the OH 58-D page; 20 Aug 02. I look forward to chatting with anyone who knew him and wants to write. - Blaine

I was stationed with him in 4/2 ACR at Fort Polk, LA. I was a Blackhawk CE at the time but knew him pretty good at work although I didnt really see him much outside of work. I was back from the field on Staff Duty the day it happened and was trying to keep some organization and sense of everything and all of the phone calls until people came in to help. I didnt even find out who it was until the next day. Im sorry for your loss and just know that his and others that are on this websites memories are not forgotten. God Bless.

I do not know if you ever look in this thread since posting but I was Phil's IP in Bosnia. Here's the troop pic. Phil is on the left by CPT Davies and I'm standing on the .50 Cal. I cannot remember where this was taken but with the background I'm guessing it was in Hungry on the way there: One night we did a mission with Phil flying with the LT as the trail aircraft and I was lead. The Milky Way was just fabulous under goggles and I asked which seat Phil was in, I knew he was into all the astronomy stuff. He was in the seat that couldn't see all that well so I did a slow 360 degree turn. The radio was silent for the rest of the flight and after postflight Phil just walked up and said, "Thank you for that" That was one night I doubt I'll ever forget.

I went through IERW with Phil. I flew with him during UH-1 Combat Skills training. Sad to hear he passed. He and the others from my class who gave their lives flying for our country will not be forgotten.
