While I was in Kosovo an Apache went down after hitting wires during a Cordon & Search mission near Gjilane, Kosovo. Postcrash fire killed the crew and destroyed the airframe. We (MEDEVAC) were sent to the site but couldn't approach due to ammunition cookoff. Not sure which unit. RIP 08 Jun 2003 IP CW3 Andy Robbins PI WO1 Devon Desouza

I pray to god every day that we could replay that day and that medics were able to get closer to Devon. I bless you for your thoughts and for being their that day and for your efforts. Our family appreciates every effort taken that day for Devon's benefit regardless of the results. May god bless you and keep you safe in these turbulent and uncertain times.

That apache was my aircraft out of Katterbach 1st ID and flying that aircraft was a very close mentor of mine CW3 Robbins not a day goes by that I don't think about that day when my aircraft 473 did not come home. My heart goes out to the family of MRS DeSouza, and Mrs Robbins, forever they will be remembered and never forgotten.
