Does anyone know what happens to the wreckages of crashed hueys. Do they sit in a "graveyard" or are they stripped and melted down. Trying to locate
#66-16543 #69-15857
Any info would help.
Thanks

Did you get the answer for the final disposition of these 2 Hueys? I would like to know. I was at the scene of the crash minutes after it happened. Please advise.

Back then they would send wreckage to Corpus Christe Army Depot in Corpus Christe Texas for salvage and scrapping out. I visited the hangars that held wreckage and it wasn't much fun. I mentioned this accident in my book "Crusader 23, I'd Rather Be Lucky Than Good" www.blurb.com.
