A/C crashed on a routine training mission near Tongduchon, 9 miles north of Seoul.
The crash was a 4/7 CAV AH-1G out of Camp Stanton. The PC was WO1 Michael Steele and he had the new (2 days in country) Flight Surgeon on board. Cause of the accident was never determined, but the aircraft hit the ground at greater than 300 G's. I was Mike's roommate and had PCS'd back to the states 7 days prior to the accident.
