I'm looking for any info on crashed aircraft that are located 15 miles SE of Big Bear Lake in Hell For Sure Canyon California. On 10 JUL 86, a UH-1 flew into the canyon to supposedly check out another airplane crash site that was located in the canyon. The UH-1 itself crashed into the east side of the canyon while they were checking out the other crash site in the San Bernardino National Forest at about the 6000' level. the UH-1 crash took place during Gallant Eagle exercises and resulted in 3 killed and 2 injured. I would like to know if anyone has any more info on either aircraft crash sites, the one previously crashed that they were "checking out" or the helo. I have a friend that knew the crew and would like to know more. With a name like "Hell For Sure" it must be!

I can tell you that the helicopter was UH-1H 65-10109 from the 200th AVN.
