It is with deep regret that I read the news in the Fallen Heroes section of Army Aviation Magazine about the death of CW3 Shawn Raymond Benjamin. He was a SERE instructor at Fort Rucker and was a UH-60 aviator. He is most remembered by his outgoing character and his willingness to instruct those student pilots who went through the course under his tutelage. According to the short text in the March/April Issue 2006, he suffered head injuries during combatives training; he died Feb 18, 2006. I feel it is worth mentioning here to honor a fallen aviator.
