My father-Cpt. John S. Seeley was killed in the CH-47 crash on 6-27-66. He was in same flight school class with Frank Roop...KIA in CH-47 crash in Feb.? '66. He wrote home to Mom of this as well as the deaths of John Eddy/George Clarke on May 4 '66. These two pilots were with Dad's sister unit...the 147th. Dad was with the 178th "Boxcars". He returned to Vietnam on 6-10-66 from medical problems in Japan. He wrote to Mom of the unit's 1st KIA while he was in Japan...the death of crew member Ross Brown up on Nui Ba Den mountain. Oh yes, Dad had served with John Eddy in a peacetime tour with the 6th at Camp K-6 in '61-62. In a letter to his father from K-6 Dad wrote of a pilot lost in an H-21 crash...his name was Ben? Humphries and K-6 was renamed in his memory. I've met surviving pilot of Dad's crash and located the flight engineer. God bless veterans...especially Vietnam veterans
