There is a new Helicopter Pilots organization that has just formed. Some of you (OK, Us) are familiar with the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association with membership available to helicopter pilots who flew in South East Asia. Now there is the Combat Helicopter Pilots Association (CHPA) with HQ in Washington, DC with regular membership available to helicopter pilots who flew in hazardous conditions (No, NVG overwater with no moon and sea state 0 doesn't necessarily count) from the Korean conflict through the present day and onward. Regular membership requirements are proof eligibility (copy of DD 214, orders, etc) and $30 annually. Founding member status is available for $500, and can be paid in installments. Additional membership levels are Legacy membership, available to immediate family members of deceased service members who would have qualified for regular membership; and Associate membership, available to those who do not qualify for regular or legacy membership but who served in non-pilot capacities in helicopter units during combat and individuals who served in any capacity in helicopter units performing combat missions but who never served in combat.
