Steve Valent was a buddy of mine from OBC, and I was at Rucker when the accident occured. He was from the AZNG going through the Longbow AQC, and was firing their first night gunnery table. The night the accident occured a front move in which took weather from a resonably clear night to driving rain storm with high winds poor vis in about 5 minutes. If I recall, it wasn't forecasted to be that bad. A search was attempted with 58's but they couldn't get minimum weather until late the next morning. By that time a ground search had found the wreckage. According to my IP in the 64D a couple of months later, they hit the grond at between 100 and 120 KTAS and had a 15 - 20 degree nose down attitude.
