Two injured in Hartford helicopter crash

HARTFORD, Ala. Two crew members on a Fort Rucker training flight were injured Monday in a helicopter crash near High Bluff Stage Field in Hartford.

A news release from the Army base said the accident, involving a TH-67 helicopter, happened in the vicinity of Hartford about 9 a.m. The two injured crew members were transported to local hospitals.

A Fort Rucker spokesperson said the accident remains under investigation.

Highbluff Stagefield Helicopter Crash Update

A Fort Rucker civilian instructor pilot remains hospitalized from injuries after a helicopter crash Monday.

A TH-67 helicopter conducting routine training, crashed at Highbluff Stagefield just outside of Harford.

Pilot 52-year-old Steve Ferguson received non-life threatening injuries and is in stable condition at a local hospital.

Student pilot 23-year-old Second Lieutenant Michael Connelly was treated and released with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
